Mountains (Alpen I) Marisa Baumgartner

Marisa's works are as much about the medium of photography, and its changing state in an increasingly digital world, as they are formally ambitious photographs in and of themselves. The subject of Mountains (Alpen I) and Mountains (Alpen II) 2006 offers both a classic view of the Alps and a nod to the history of landscape painting, and in turn operate as contemporary monuments to our abstracted relationship to the natural world.
