Celestial Radio (Night) Zoe Walker & Neil Bromwich

These prints provide a photographic record of the artist’s independent radio station which broadcast from a glitter ball yacht along the Essex coastline in 2004. The station played 1970's progressive rock for 25 days alongside discussions on topical issues relevant to the scientific and spiritual localities around the ship – for example Bradwell nuclear power station and St Peter’s Chapel. This work explores personal desires to find the ideal place and the impossibility of finding that location

Zoe Walker & Neil Bromwich

Zoe was born in Scotland and studied at the Edinburgh College of Art, where she now works as a research lecturer. Neil has been a lecturer in Fine Art at Newcastle University since 1997. Together they use playful techniques to address questions of war, peace, happiness and belief – drawing on the atmosphere, history and culture of specific locations. The couple live together in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
